Grain Pattern
Generally straight to slightly irregular grain with a fine, uniform texture. Flat-sawn surface showing subtle cathedral patterns and occasional small pin knots.

Freshly cut heartwood is a light pinkish-brown, darkening significantly upon exposure to light and air to a deep rich reddish-brown with a warm golden luster. Sapwood is a narrow band of pale yellowish-white.
