Challenging due to wild grain and burl clusters which are prone to tearout during planing or turning. Takes sanding exceptionally well and stabilizes cleanly with vacuum resins; glues securely.
Finish Recommendations
Wipe-on poly, penetrating Danish oil, or high-gloss CA (cyanoacrylate) finish after sanding to fine grit (600+) to dramatically pop the figure and depth. Stabilization with vacuum resin is highly recommended for knife handles.
