Workability
Generally easy to work with both hand and machine tools, though it can blunt cutting edges due to its density. Responds well to gluing, screwing, and staining, but high tannin content can react with iron/steel to cause blue-black stains in the presence of moisture.
Finish Recommendations
Takes stains, oils, and varnishes exceptionally well. Water-based finishes prevent yellowing if a natural lighter look is preferred, while oil-based finishes enhance the warm golden-brown tones.
