Workability
Generally works well with both hand and machine tools, though it has moderate to high blunting effect on cutters due to silica and density. Glues, stains, and finishes well, but prone to splitting when nailed or screwed near edges, requiring pre-drilling.
Finish Recommendations
Takes stains, oils, varnishes, and polyurethane exceptionally well. Water-based finishes prevent excessive yellowing if a natural look is desired.
