Workability
Generally easy to work with both hand and machine tools. Soft texture means it cuts and planes cleanly, though knots can cause tearing. Glues and finishes well, though high natural oil content can occasionally interfere with certain glues.

Penetrating oils, shellac, or lacquers work well. Polyurethane can be used, but finishes that preserve the natural wood scent and tactile feel are often preferred.
